Esha Chhabra and Smita Satiani have made a fresher, kinder tea while investing in farmers that are pioneering the regenerative movement in India, and celebrating women that are the backbone of the tea industry.

 Esha & Smita's Story:

Alaya comes from “Himalaya,” the region that inspired us to build a tea company. After growing up drinking chai and traversing this mountainous area, visiting small farmers and tea estates, we wanted to build a company that respects Indian agriculture communities and addresses environmental challenges we face through agriculture. Alaya's mission is to invest in farmers who are pioneering the organic and regenerative movement in India, celebrate women that are the backbone of the tea industry, and elevate tea-drinking culture in the United States.

We offer a selection of loose-leaf teas and herbals, all sourced directly from organic and biodynamic farms in India. Our packaging is 100% compostable including the zipper, label and adhesive. You can follow our journey on Instagram at @alayatea.
